A preterm infant, weighing 1400 grams at birth, was safely transported from Max Super Speciality Hospital, Vaishali (New Delhi), to Jeevan Jyoti Hospital, Moradabad, using a specialized neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) ambulance. The transfer was managed by a skilled neonatal transport team, including a neonatologist and a trained paramedic, ensuring expert care throughout the journey.

The baby, classified as very low birth weight (VLBW), required continuous oxygen support during transport. A high-grade neonatal transport incubator was utilized to maintain normothermia and prevent hypothermia, which is a significant risk in preterm neonates. Comprehensive monitoring of vital signs—such as heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation (SpO₂), and body temperature—was carried out using neonatal-specific monitoring devices.

Throughout the transfer, the infant remained clinically stable, with no episodes of apnea, bradycardia, or oxygen desaturation. The medical team adhered to strict neonatal transport protocols and infection prevention guidelines to ensure the infant’s safety and minimize the risk of complications.

The inter-facility transfer concluded smoothly and without incident. Upon arrival, the neonate was admitted to the NICU at Jeevan Jyoti Hospital, Moradabad, where further specialized neonatal care was initiated promptly.
