Train Ambulance From Kolkata to Vellore

A 45-year-old male patient, a known case of chronic pancreatitis, was being managed conservatively with intravenous fluids and total parenteral nutrition (TPN) due to persistent gastrointestinal symptoms, recurrent abdominal pain, and severe malabsorption secondary to exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. Given the progressive deterioration in his nutritional status and the complexity of his condition, he was referred for advanced care. The patient was transferred from a tertiary care center in Kolkata to our institution CMC (Christian Medical College) Vellore via rail ambulance service, ensuring continuous medical monitoring and supportive care during transit. He is now under evaluation by a multidisciplinary team involving gastroenterology, clinical nutrition, and surgical specialties for further diagnostic workup and individualized management planning.
