Safe Neonatal Transport: Critical 2 kg Premature Baby Shifted to West Delhi NICU

A critically ill, 5-day-old premature baby weighing 2 kg was safely transferred from Delhi Newborn Centre (Paschim Vihar) to the West Delhi Newborn Centre in Dwarka via a specialized NICU ambulance.
The 20 km transit was highly high-risk due to a history of *birth asphyxia. The infant required maximum life support, including a **neonatal ventilator on 100% oxygen, continuous **inotropic support*, and IV fluids managed by precision infusion pumps.
To mitigate the severe risks of hypothermia, lung injury, and blood pressure drops, the transfer followed a strict *bed-to-bed transport protocol. The baby was protected inside a specialized transport incubator and closely monitored throughout the journey by a dedicated **neonatologist* and a trained paramedic.
The successful transport ensures the infant can now receive advanced, long-term NICU care for birth asphyxia and prematurity complications in Dwarka.
