Pediatric Transfer From Holy Family Hospital To SGRH

A Race for Life: Baby Aarav’s Transfer
A 15-day-old baby, Aarav, just 2.5 kg, lay fragile on a ventilator at Holy Family Hospital. Diagnosed with congenital heart disease (HLHS) and suspected hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE), his condition was deteriorating. With unstable vitals and sluggish neurological response, he needed urgent transfer to Ganga Ram Hospital’s pediatric cardiac unit.
The Life Savers Ambulance team, worked swiftly—stabilizing oxygen levels, optimizing ventilator settings, and starting cardiac support medications. En route, a sudden bradycardia episode threatened his life, but quick intervention with fluids and drug adjustments stabilized him.
Navigating Delhi’s traffic, the ambulance became a mobile NICU. At Ganga Ram, the pediatric team was ready. Aarav’s fight wasn’t over, but thanks to a swift and precise transfer, he had a chance at survival.
