From Max Hospital, Delhi To Ranchi In Lifesavers Rail Ambulance







A very sick patient with multiple organ failure was shifted from Max Hospital, Delhi to Ranchi in Lifesavers rail ambulance. He was very old and was on continuous ventilator support with very high settings. There was very high oxygen requirement due to which lot of oxygen cylinders were carried for the whole journey.
There were other requirements also which were effectively fulfilled such as:
–>continuous infusion of fentanyl /Atracurium
–>very frequent suction through tracheotomy – lots of tracheal suction
–>kidney was compromised due to which very calculative I/V fluids with very close monitoring of urine output
–>monitoring of blood sugar done by Glucometer at a regular intervals
–>continuous close monitoring of vitals by Multi-Para monitor
–>frequent change of position of patient to avoid develop bed sores
After long journey of 22 hrs, the patient reached Ranchi railway station safely. From railway station, he was shifted to the hospital by ACLS road ambulance and handed over to doctor and medical staff of Ranchi hospital.
Overall, it was a very difficult medical transportation by Train and was successfully handled by Dr. Pradeep Gupta and his team.
