The success rate is higher, which people have considered for better results.

Chennai, India's booming metropolis, with millions of people and a sophisticated train network. Ensuring the health and safety of a large population, particularly those in transit, is critical. This is where Lifesavers, in partnership with major healthcare institutions like as MGM, shines as a beacon of hope. We have therefore tried to connect more cities and villages with Chennai with our train ambulance service in Chennai.

Lifesavers changed emergency medical care in Chennai by establishing a dedicated train ambulance service. This one-of-a-kind project connects medical emergencies on trains with superior healthcare facilities, providing a lifeline to people in need.

Why Choose a Train Ambulance Over Other Modes?

1. Affordable and Accessible

Treatment costs can be high, but train ambulances significantly reduce travel expenses, offering a more budget-friendly option compared to air ambulances without compromising care.

2. Fastest and Most Comfortable Travel

We select high-speed trains with minimal halts, ensuring quick and smooth travel. Lifesavers manages all logistics, letting families focus solely on their loved one’s recovery.

3. ICU Setup Onboard

Each train ambulance functions as a mobile ICU, complete with ventilators, oxygen supply, cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, defibrillators, suction machines, and life-saving drugs. Our trained paramedics, nurses, and critical care doctors accompany the patient throughout the journey.

How Lifesavers Train Ambulance Works ?

We’ve made the process of booking and managing a train ambulance in Chennai as smooth and efficient as possible. Every step is handled by our in-house team, ensuring timely response and complete medical coordination.

1. Initial Inquiry & Medical Details

Call our 24×7 helpline (+91-9891233040) and share basic patient details name, age, medical condition, current hospital, and destination city.

2. Medical Evaluation

Our ICU specialist (such as Dr. Pradeep Gupta) assesses whether the patient is stable enough for train transport and identifies the required equipment and medical team.

3. Coordination with Indian Railways / IRCTC

Lifesavers liaises directly with Indian Railways and IRCTC to secure confirmed berths in the most suitable train usually Rajdhani, Duronto, or Express routes  ensuring minimum travel time.

4. Onboard ICU Preparation

Before departure, our team installs life-support equipment (ventilators, oxygen cylinders, monitors, infusion pumps, suction units, etc.) and verifies power backup and sanitation within the coach.

5. Patient Transfer to Railway Station

A ground ambulance shifts the patient from hospital to the departure station under continuous monitoring, where the rail medical setup is already ready.

6. Continuous Care During Journey

Throughout the trip, our ICU doctor, nurse, and paramedic monitor vitals, administer medications, and maintain contact with both the referring and receiving hospitals.

7. Arrival & Final Handover

Upon reaching the destination, a receiving ground ambulance transports the patient directly to the chosen hospital. The Lifesavers team coordinates the handover with the admitting doctors to ensure uninterrupted care.

Our first and only experience of an Ambulatory service was with Dr.Pradeep Gupta's "Life Savers". Patient was in ICU and on non-invasive Ventilator (NIV) for 5 days in Delhi, post which we engaged services of Life Savers - Train Ambulatory services, to move this elderly female patient (aged 85 years) from ICU in Delhi to ICU in Mumbai (door to door), for continuity of treatment. Intensivist Dr.Deepshikhar Gupta and paramedic Ashwini accompanied us. Dr.Deepshikhar infact came a day earlier to see the patient first hand and interact with the ICU team in Delhi. He is a confident and experienced intensivist. Our Point to Point experience of 21 hours (road & rail) with Life Savers was tension free and relaxed. We thank them for the professional service rendered by them.

On 5th February, we arranged an air ambulance transfer from Bhubaneshwar to Delhi, and the service was truly outstanding from start to finish. Right from the first call, the team was compassionate, responsive, and extremely professional. They guided us through the entire process clearly, ensuring all documentation and medical requirements were handled smoothly. The medical crew on board was exceptional — highly skilled, attentive, and caring throughout the flight. Their constant monitoring and quick response brought immense peace of mind during a stressful time. The aircraft was fully equipped with ICU-level support, and every safety protocol was followed meticulously. What impressed us most was the bed-to-bed coordination — the team made sure the transition from the hospital in Bhubaneswar to the receiving facility in Delhi was seamless. Communication was prompt and transparent at every step, and we always knew what was happening. We are extremely grateful for the care and professionalism shown by the entire crew. Highly recommended for anyone needing reliable, compassionate, and efficient air ambulance services.
